Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed

PASS ME IF YOU DARE, I HAVE A SWARM OF BEES AND I’M NOT AFRAID TO USE IT!

Pas me if you dare

Sonic reprises his role in this racing game as the super-fast blue hedgehog, however this time you need to prove how fast your vehicle is instead of how fast your feet are. The concept of the game is kept very simple and by doing this makes it fun and easy for the kids to play too. There is a character selection of 20 different characters from Sega’s long running line of superstars including some rather long time forgotten or little know characters. The character roster of course comprises 7 of the most well know characters from the Sega franchise including obviously Sonic, Tails and The villainous Dr. Egghead as well as a few others that I feel could have been left out to include some other know names from different Sega franchises.

The Gang

Every track is unique in its design and keeps you on your toes because you never know when the track is going to change. The reason for this is that during every race, your vehicle will be changing shapes regularly between car, boat and plane. You will be racing along and all of a sudden the road you were on a lap ago has been destroyed and you now all of a sudden find yourself in the air flying an aeroplane through the track. Throughout the track you will find power objects that you can pick up and use as weapons against the other racers. These range from rockets and jetpack type upgrades through to snowballs and blowfish. This game was fun for myself as well as fun for both my daughters aged 5 and 9. Ironically my 5 yr. old daughter can’t drive and steer well but somehow manages to get me almost every time with one of her weapons of mass destruction.

Racing

The game itself offers you the basics that you would find in most racing games: Grand prix, Time Trial and check point racing. It also has the typical career mode in which you race a variety of different types of events and open up more venues and vehicle upgrades as you go along.

I have found this game a whole lot of fun especially when playing with the family and believe that I will still be able to play the game with them for some time to come.
