Hitman Absolution starts off with Agent 47 getting the task to take out his former handler Diana. It is said that she betrayed the agency and stole one of their most precious assets. So you start the game outside her hideout making your way in past all the guards, once you reach your objective she gets killed but with her dying breath she asks 47 to read a letter she wrote and to take care of the “asset” a teenage girl named Victoria. From here-on you are seen as a traitor to the agency and while being hunted by them you try to keep Victoria safe. The story unfolds as more people get involved and takes 47 to a lot of different places. For me the story is interesting and in a way something new to the series. You do not get your normal case files as before, but this time the story flows into each mission but you still get targets to eliminate, which I think is a great way to make the campaign enjoyable, entertaining and still have your classic “Take out Targets”.

The gameplay is smooth and there are so many ways to do a single mission that when you try and do all of it you might get overwhelmed. You get challenges to complete on each mission e.g. to wear only the black suit through the whole mission or to collect all the evidence. This gives the game a lot of replay value as you cannot help to try and complete the challenges, but they are created so that you will have to replay the mission to be able to complete all of them. Some might not like this but for me it’s nice as it forces you in a way to try a mission in a different game style and gets you out of your own “comfort” game style.

The graphics are amazing and very detailed; there are some minor glitches here and there like when you drag a body but nothing too drastic to take away from the awesome experience of the game. Throughout the game the detail in the graphics together with the cut scenes gives off the right atmosphere for the story line and adds a dramatic feel to it.
The sound and music isn’t anything to go crazy about but it is set just right but nothing spectacular.

They called the online mode ‘contracts’ and as it implies you play ‘contracts’ that the developers, users or you yourself create. The editor is done just right where you pick a stage and instead of going into an editor mode you play the stage. You choose targets, up to 3, and then depending on what you wear and how you kill the said target/s it will be added as a bonus objective. This is something very new to Hitman and I think they made it just right, it feels great to run around in a stage trying to decide who to choose as a target and how to take them out. To finish the stage you have to choose one of the exit points and it’s as easy as that. Another thing that makes this great is that you won’t get any stages that are actually impossible to finish as the creator has to “Play” the stage.
